SAFETY INCENTIVE AWARD PROGRAM

EHS oversees a safety incentive award program that many departments on campus participate in to encourage their employees to attend safety meetings and practice safe work procedures.  This program was designed to minimize University losses, reduce costs, improve morale and increase productivity.  A monthly safety meeting, with information provided by EHS, is required of each participant.  In order for participants to be eligible for an award, they also must be accident free and not have an on-the-job injury requiring medical treatment.  After one year of participation within the Safety Incentive Award Program, the qualifying employees are notified and selection of their safety award is made.  Gift selections are limited by the State to a $20.00 maximum allowance for each gift per employee per year.  For more information regarding department participation and requirements contact EHS at 348-5905.
