RIGHT TO KNOW

The Right to Know regulations are otherwise known as the Hazardous Communication Standard. Each employee has several rights as described by this standard. These are:

·        To know the specific chemicals they are required to use in their job.

·        To review a material safety data sheet (MSDS) for all those chemicals they use.

·        To receive training concerning the nature, effects, MSDS and proper and safe use for each chemical they are required to use.

·        To file a complaint or seek assistance from EHS.

EHS responsibilities associated with the Right to Know program include employee training, assistance with the procurement and interpretation of MSDS’s and responding to complaints.
