Students in this class will learn the fundamentals of modern spectroscopic techniques applicable to determining the structure of organic molecules and related compounds. Both theory and application of infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, and magnetic spectrometry will be discussed. The goal of this class will be to give you the tools to be able to interpret IR, NMR, and MS data generated during the course of your research career.
