COURSE OBJECTIVE:

This course is open to second-year graduate teaching assistants in the Department of Communication Studies. The primary goal of the course is to facilitate the instruction of COM-123, Public Speaking. Students enrolled in COM-501, during their first semester of teaching, will provide lesson plans for their classes and discuss options for improving classroom learning. Outside resources will be provided to the students in the form of a supplemental library in the GTA office, guest lectures, CTL presentations, and informational lectures provided by the instructor.

COURSE OBJECTIVE:

This course is open to second-year graduate teaching assistants in the Department of Communication Studies. The primary goal of the course is to facilitate the instruction of COM-123, Public Speaking. Students enrolled in SC-501, during their second semester of teaching, will meet on a biweekly basis and discuss topics related to improving the teaching/learning process. Outside resources will be provided to the students in the form of a supplemental library in the GTA office, guest lectures, CTL presentations, and informational lectures provided by the instructor.
