Activities

The Student Alumni Association hosts many activities and fundraising events on and around campus to raise money for student leadership scholarships for current University of Alabama students.

a

T-Shirts: The SAA designs and sells themed t-shirts around campus. Past designs have included the football schedule, Homecoming, big football games, and SAA-sponsored events. Click here to view this year's first t-shirt!

*We are taking suggestions for designs of this year's Homecoming t-shirt. The theme is 'A Tide Nation Unified with Crimson Pride'. SAA members email saa@bama.ua.edu or contact Brytney Snow with ideas for the design!

Discovering Bama: SAA members greet prospective University of Alabama and answer any questions they might have about the University. Before arriving, the student has a schedule of meetings with UA faculty members that is tailored to their interests. We meet the student at Alumni Hall, tell them about SAA, and talk to them about campus life from a student's perspective.

a

Kick Off On the Quad: During football season, the SAA sets up a tent on the quad for select football games. We sell t-shirts, tattoos, and offer face-painting for the little ones!

Alumni Mentoring Program: One of the most important jobs of an SAA member is interacting with University alumni. We meet and greet during important University of Alabama events and escort alumni around campus. We also assist during many of the alumni activities during Homecoming and A-day weekend. The newly formed Alumni Mentoring Program matches each SAA member with an alumnus that has the career that the student is interesting in pursuing.

Bama's Got Talent: This is SAA's newest fundraiser! It is a competition for young men and women to determine who has the most talent on campus. Categories include evening wear, talent, and interview, and prizes are awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners as well as to Mr./Mrs. Congeniality. This year the winner received a gift certificate to the Shirt Shop for $125 and a football signed by the entire Alabama football coaching staff. SAA members recruit participants, sell tickets, and play an active role in preparing for the event.
