Community Service

The Student Alumni Association hosts several community service events in the Tuscaloosa area. Each year, we plan events to help serve the campus and surrounding community.

 

 

Halloween Festival: In October, the SAA hosts a free Halloween festival for children of the community on the front lawn of Alumni Hall. Children are invited to dress up and come over for some fun games and candy. We dress in costumes and oversee the different games.

 

 

 

 

Relay for Life: SAA members participate in this activity sponsored by the American Cancer Society. We raise money to donate to cancer research, and take turns doing laps around the quad. This event is a great way to commemorate the lives of those who have battled cancer as well as show our support for survivors.

 

Senior Prom: The SAA hosts a "senior" prom for the senior citizens of the Capstone Village retirement community. We provide refreshments and spend the evening dancing and playing games with the residents of Capstone Village.
