Prof. Visscher is the author of an undergraduate textbook,
"Fields
and Electrodynamics" (Wiley, 1988), which introduces electrodynamics
through the use of real-time solutions of the Maxwell equations such as
those of the "Real Time Maxwell" package (below). These are based on a
simple discretization of the Maxwell equations introduced in:
"Discrete formulation of Maxwell equations", P. B. Visscher, Computers
