飞  到  阿  大

   为了方便接机,一般新生选择目的地到BIRMINGHAM或ATLANTA.

   不同时期,不同的航线,不同的航空公司价格都不同,可以与国内的机票代理联系寻找稳妥而经济的路线.(最常走的路线是美国

    西北航空公司的北京／上海-东京-底特律-伯明翰). 注意点是:在入境地(例如底特律)需留出足够的转机时间(一个半小时以上).

携　带　物　品

   阿拉巴马塔斯卡卢萨市和上海相似但偏干,昼夜温差较大,夏季白天较热,夜晚凉爽;冬季有一小段时间白天暖人,晚上刺骨;春秋季十分宜人.空气好,所以紫外线强.

  建议带:

   1.两三件棉衣

   2.长袖T恤若干(长时间呆在空调屋内,短袖T恤有点冻人)

   3.伞(有雨季,而且这里的伞又贵又不好看)

   4.立即要用的日常用品

   5.被子可带可不带(这里四五十美元可以买到,国内好的也得这个价儿吧,不过初来乍到,总得有个盖的)

  另外,

  据环球时报的文章提醒说，赴美留学有“五带”。

　　——带一本英汉双解词典

　　既然是留学，首当其冲要考虑的当然是学习用品。别怕它占行李的重量，到了异国他乡，英汉双解词典就变成了宝典，不管你学什么专业都有可能用到它。在美国不大容易买到英汉词典，价格更是比国内贵不少。在规格上，如果不是语言专业，带本牛津或朗文的双解词典就够了。

　　——多配一副眼镜

　　近视眼的同学出国前最好多配一副眼镜，以防万一丢失或损坏，随时可以有替换的。在美国配一副眼镜的价格同国内差不多，200元到300元，不过后面的单位是美元。

　　——带一两件民族服装

　　有民族特色的衣服带一两件，好在PARTY上展示一下中国特色。美国人不是很讲究穿着，在大学里更是T恤衫牛仔裤满校园. 打折的名牌T恤,牛仔裤很便宜. 美国的鞋大多是中国制造，价格经济，质量不错，有些甚至比国内还便宜。

　　——带点家乡特产,调料

　　在美国呆长了,自已做的菜越来越单调,西餐不能天天吃. 这里调料中国店里有,当然比起国内要贵许多,备一点还是明智的.火锅底料,汤料什么的可以带一点,这里一般要驱车到BIRMINGHAM/ATLANTA才能买到.注意,少带肉制品,以免被罚.

　　——带几筒牙膏

　　其他日用品也不用带太多。不过牙膏可以多带几筒。美国人用的牙膏号称都是纯天然，可有些牙膏的效果实在令人不敢恭维。

　　　　　　　请新生订机票到BIRMINGHAM，AL　（机场代码：BHM），提前至少一个星期与ACSS联系，把详细的航班号、抵达时间、

           行李件数、所修专业、随行人数告知ACSS.

注　册　程　序

开学前会有新生指南活动(Student Orientation)，包括International Student Orientation Session和 Graduate Student Orientation,要积极

参加，很受益．期间会发小册子说明到校需办事宜．一般情况如下：

  １．到国际学生处报到（Check In)，带上I-20,护照,I-94,Assistant Letter

  2. Graduate Student Orietation

  3. Graduate Student TA Workshops

  4. 学校公寓Check-In

  5. International Student Orientation

  6. 申请Action Card(相当于学生证)

  7. 交健康情况报表，免疫接种,肺结核皮试

  8. 注册课程(与导师见面选定课程),交学杂费

  9. 申请Social Security Card(学校统一安排申请)，带上I-20,护照,I-94,Assistant Letter

  10.上课

住　在　塔　城

　　　学校附近的住房很多，如果加入acs的mailing list，每学期快结束和开始的时候会有很多转租房和售物的信息。新生因为刚来没有车，应首选离学校近的apartment,　一般走路到学校只需十到三十分钟。另外，旧生离开的时候会找人续租尚未到期的apartment, 往往价格优惠，而且有时会附送家具，是很好的deal。如果来前联系不到合适的住处，也可以来了以后暂时住在愿意提供帮助的中国学生家里，再尽快解决。

回　国　手　续

1. 提前至少一个月到B.B.Comer Hall的国际学生办公室办新的I－20表 （所需表格和要求在国际学生办领取和咨询）。

2. 到Student Service Center 二楼办在籍学生证明（Certificate of Enrollment）。

3. 到Student Service Center 二楼办成绩单$5一份(并非必备).

4. 到系里开 Good-Standing Letter 证明自己在这里是个良民,好好学习,有奖学金(也非必备).

5. 到所属银行开存款证明(以防万一）

回国如需重新办签证一般可以免面签(8.1.不再启用)，用中信银行的代办服务。具体需要的材料如下：

　　　　a.I—20 原件

   b.OF-156 表一式两份,OF-157(男），OF-158 表

   d.大一寸彩照两张,新规定50mm*50mm

   d.护照

   e.非移民签证收据第一联

   f.简历

   g.在籍证明

　其中b和e 要回国后到中信银行交钱后才能领到。

签证需要的时间：一个星期左右

签证所需的费用：签证费＋中信代办费，因涨幅较大，所以还请找国内的人具体问。

结　婚　手　续

          如果你在中国有户口，到你户口所在街道或单位办理未婚证明。

         如果你已经没有户口，你需如下办理：

             1．    到 Rose Administration Building 二楼的 Public Notary Office （这个Office在University President Office旁边），办”Proof of Single”。带上Photo ID     

           （Driver’s Liscence/Passport）。几分钟即可办好。

             2．    到downtown的塔城法院Tuscaloosa County Court（在Tuscaloosa First Baptist Church对面），进门一楼左拐到Marriage Dossier Office,交出“Proof of

                    Single”，让他们出据没有你的结婚纪录的证明，需由Judge签名。别忘了带上Photo ID。如果Judge不在，可以第二天再取证明。

             3．    把法院出据的证明寄给Sectary of State of Alabama at Montgomery。地址是：

            除了证明外，还要寄上$5.00 的支票。不需要寄学校University public notary 出示的Proof of Single. 大概需要四到五个工作日，你就可以收到State Secretary

          寄来的正式未婚证明。

             4．    把所有的材料寄给中国驻休斯顿领事馆，所有材料需装订在一起，包括：

            a.       学校（University public notary）开的证明

            b.       塔城法院（Tuscaloosa County Court）开的证明

            c.       State Secretary 开的证明

            d.       $25 现金（$5劳务费，$20公证费）

            e.       护照复印件

            f.         带足够邮资的信封

       一两个星期后你就可以拿到公证。

            体检：

               和配偶到国内的保健院或指定医院体检。

              你可以向民政局询问指定医院。

              注意，体检当天早晨要空腹。

              下午或第二天就可以拿到结果。

         结婚证：

              拿到未婚证明后（当然，您的配偶也该有一份。仔细检查上面的姓名和出生日期），和配偶到民政局，带上身份证/护照，未婚证明，健康证明，

            就可以办结婚证了！

             海外结婚的办理时间和地点可能在不同省份有些不同。去之前打个电话问问。如果你有户口并在户口所在地办了未婚证明，你任何时候都可以去。

English Version:

If you have your Hu Kou at home in China.  You can get a Proof of single from local Street "Jie Dao" or any "Dan Wei" where you put your HuKou.

 If you have canceled your Hu Kou, you have to get a Proof of single through the following processes.

 ***************************************************************************************************************************************************

1) Go to the "public notary" office in the secondary floor of the Rose Administration Building.  The office is besides the University President Office.  You have to bring your Photo ID such as Driver's liscence.  You can get it in a few minutes if she is over there.

 2) Bring the "Proof of Single" from the Public notary to the Tuscaloosa County Court at downtown (across the Street from the Tuscaloosa First Baptist Church).  Go to the marriage dossier office at the first floor on the left of the entrance.  Ask them to give you a proof that they dont have a marriage record of you.  And it should be signed by the judge.  Be sure to bring your Photo ID.  You can get it in a few minutes if the judge is not in court.  If the judge is in court, you can leave it over there and take it in the next day.

 3) Send the file from the county court to the Sectary of State of Alabama at Montgomery.  The address is as following:

 Be sure to include $5 (check) in the envelop.  It is not necessary to send the paper from the University public notary from.  It will take 4 to 5 working days for you to get the certificate from the State Secretary, including days on the way.  

 4) Send all these files to the Chinese Consulate General at Houston:

     Files:   (should be clippered toghether)

          a. file you get from the University public notary

          b. file you get from the County Court

          c. file you get from the State Secretary.

    Money:

           cash only: $25, ($5 service fee + $20 notarization fee)

    Photo ID:

          copy of your passport.

    Envelop with enough stamps

 it may take a week or two for you to get it.

Physical examination:

 Go with your spouse to the "Hu You Bao Jian" Hospital or any designated hospital to have physical examination.

You may contact local "Ming Zheng Ju" to get to know which Hospital is the desiginated one

Be sure not to have food in the morning when you go.

In the afternoon, or in the next day you will get a proof from the doctor.

 After You get your Proof of single, (for sure, your spouse has to have one too,  Be sure not to make mistakes on the names and birthday), go to Min Zheng Ju, with your spouse with the following items:

           Photo ID (Sheng Fen Zheng). 

           Hu Kou

          Proof of single.

          Proof of physical condition from the doctor.

    The office time for oversea marriage may be different in different proviences or in different local offices.  You'd better call them before you go.  If you have a single of   proof from your Hu Kou, you can get married at any office time.
