Time: Tuesday and Thursday 2:00 to 4:50 pm

Laboratory Project for Fall Semester 2003:
This class consistes of one hour lecture segments followed by work on the experiments.
The lectures will cover the following topics:
- Statistics
- Types of radiation
- Radiation detectors
Depending on the student's background this list of subjects may be
adjusted.
During the first half of the semester the class will perform and
analyze pre-prepared experiments.
Every student is expected to prepare a written report on the experiment and the data
analysis. These reports will be graded.
Due to the small class size there will be two options for independent work in
the second half of the class:
- Beta spectrometer and special relativity
- Work on a resarch project in Neutrino physics
The students can choose one the above options.
