AFTER AN AWESOME STATE FCA COLLEGE WEEKEND
OUR ATHLETES WILL SHARE THEIR IMPRESSIONS TONIGHT AT 9
The State FCA College Advance was a blast in some respects and a moving experience in other ways for all 110 athletes from 12 colleges who attended last weekend at the Shocco Springs Assembly near Talladega.
Tonight the nine student/athletes who attended from Alabama will share the fun enjoyed, the fellowship and the spiritual power experienced with athletes from the other colleges. Attending from Alabama were Clint Johnston, J.B. Closner, Boone Stutz, Allen Burgess and Patrick Tate of the football team, Ryan Kyranakis and Wade Watkins of the track team, Lauren Bowen (soccer) and Kristen Baber (athletic hostess). Several others had committed to attend but unexpected events prevented their participation.
The weekend was set up much like a summer FCA Camp with assembles, college and staff speakers, lots of music, huddles, competition and good food. Everyone present was challenged and inspired to greater service for Jesus Christ. Everyone left greatly uplifted with many new friendships and determined to return again next year.
Some of our fondest and most important spiritual growth experiences occur at camps and retreats. Tonight, our students will share what the weekend Advance meant to their life. FCA will meet after the game at the College Annex on Bryant Drive across from Calvary Baptist Church.
