“THE ART OF COURTSHIP”

IS TONIGHT’S FCA TOPIC BY TOMMY NELSON AT 9

Tonight, we will continue a two-week series with Tommy Nelson on “The Art of Courtship.” This talk will command your attention as Tommy speaks honestly and directly with humor about this all important subject.

“Courtship is the time when you begin to date one person exclusively, frequently, and with the purpose of determining if this is the person with whom you truly want to spend the rest of your life,” says Tommy. “Courtship begins with a decision to date only one person and ends in a formal engagement or a definitive dissolution of the relationship. In other words, the end of the courtship is either an engagement or a breakup. A good courtship can be exhilarating and joyful.

“A courtship that is conducted poorly or ends badly can leave a person feeling bitter, angry, frustrated, disappointed, discouraged, and even depressed. Therefore, let’s do courtship right! The Song of Solomon gives us useful guidance.

“Dating is observation. Courtship is involvement.

“Dating is time allotment; it is an end in itself. Courtship is directional; it is moving toward something.

“Dating is marketing. Courtship is negotiating a potential sale to its close.”

Tommy’s talk, via video, is always a hit with college students. In fact, he is speaking to 4000 college students in this video. Make a point to attend FCA tonight at 9 at the College Annex, just across from Calvary Baptist Church on Bryant Drive.
