THE MYTH OF SAFE SEX VIDEO WITH DR. JAMES DOBSON

IS TONIGHT’S FCA PROGRAM AT 9 O’CLOCK

Is there really such a thing as safe sex? Dr. James Dobson tackles the popular myths and misinformation that our society feeds us, showing that morality isn’t the only reason to delay sex until after marriage.

The Myth of Safe Sex emphasizes the medical implications of promiscuity, leading to today’s epidemic of sexually transmitted diseases. Anyone can get an STD (sexually transmitted disease). Today, three million new cases below the age of 25 are recorded each year in America. Fifty years ago, only two or three STDs were known in the United States. Today there are some 50 known STDs in the U.S.

If you have sex, just once, with someone who has an STD, you can catch it. It only takes “once” to get pregnant, get a venereal disease or die from AIDS. The death rate for AIDS is 100%. There is no cure. Other STDs are incurable. Some cause sterilization, cancer of the cervix, some kill, and others are painful and irritating. Cervical cancer deaths are highest in Alabama and Kentucky and increases with multiple sex partners and sex at an early age.

Dr. James Dobson is founder and president of Focus On The Family and one of the nation’s foremost authorities on the family. His message will reveal the dangers and risks of the safe sex myth. He will say, “Take care of yourself. Nobody else can do that for you.”   FCA meets tonight at 9 p.m. at the College Annex across from Calvary Baptist Church on Paul Bryant Drive. Come and bring a friend.

Dr. Joe McKeever writes that last November, Sports Illustrated, covered the baseball World Series in which the Arizona Diamondbacks recovered from a slump to defeat the New York Yankees in the last inning of the final game. It prompted the SI editors to list the “Top Ten Comebacks of All Time.”

Elvis Presley was on it for a TV special in 1968 that revived his sagging career. Muhammad Ali made the list when he returned from a 7-year exile in boxing to reclaim the world championship. Harry Truman made the cut when he defeated Thomas Dewey in 1948. Even humanity was on the list, after recovering from the Black Plague of the 14th century when 25 million Europeans died.

Number two among the all-time comebacks was Japan and Germany, devastated in WW II and becoming world economic powers. The greatest comeback of all time…

Jesus Christ. AD 33. Stuns Romans and defies critics by his resurrection from the grave.

Dr. McKeever writes how he was aghast coming from SI, a sports magazine. “I would have added two little words to the whole thing. It was the greatest comeback “so far.” Jesus Christ is coming back again. That will be the greatest comeback.”
