LAST FCA SEMESTER MEETING…ATHLETES TO SHARE
TONIGHT AT 9 O’CLOCK
The FCA meets for its last meeting of the current school year tonight at 9 o’clock, concluding our 38th year. Some of our athletes will share reflections of their school year and how their faith has sustained them.
Tonight we will hear from Mivve Strickland (basketball) Mandy Tedder (golf), Boone Stutz and Clint Johnston (football) and Ryan Kyranakis (track).
We have had another outstanding year of programs and ministry. Special thanks to Jonathan Richey and Tyler Harris for their leadership, and Christian Summer for leading our music. On Dec. 5, we had Mac Powell of Third Day, who won the Dove Award last week for Best Male Vocalist and Best Contemporary Group for 2002. Heather Payne of Point of Grace and her husband Brian were with us on Sept. 12.
Make a special effort to attend FCA tonight at 9 at the College Annex, one block from Bryant-Denny Stadium and across from Calvary Baptist Church.
NOTE: The National Day of Prayer is
tomorrow (May 2). The Tuscaloosa service will be at noon at the First Wesleyan
Church on McFarland Blvd.
* * THOUGHTS * *
THE ROOKIE….Be sure to see this true movie story of a high school baseball coach who made the big leagues. Rated G, not a word of profanity and the kind of movies we need to support for more Hollywood productions.
ONE SENTENCE SERMONS: Don’t wait for 6 strong men to take you to church……Exercise daily. Walk with the Lord……Be Fishers of men. You catch’em, He’ll clean’em……Don’t put a question mark where God has put a period……A lot of kneeling with keep you in good standing……Having truth decay? Brush up on your Bible……God loves everyone, but probably prefers “fruits of the spirit” over “religious nuts”……Plan ahead. It wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark……”Pray” is a four-letter word that you can say anywhere……WARNING: Exposure to the Son may prevent burning……Watch your step carefully! Everyone else does!......Worry is the darkroom in which “negatives” are developed……We set the sail; God makes the wind……God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage……God grades on the cross, not the curve.
