'The Coalition for BioMolecular Products

The Coalition for BioMolecular Products is committed to the identification of novel macromolecules and interesting biochemical processes of practical and commercial value through research and education at the interface of biology and chemistry. The Coalition is an alliance of research groups from the Departments of Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Human Nutrition with long-standing interests in the structure and function of biological molecules. The expertise of the faculty provides a basis for interdisciplinary research into problems affecting the quality of life of all people. Coalition members explore the application of new molecular technologies to both basic research and applied problems including manufacturing, medical and environmental diagnostics, and remediation. These projects provide new opportunities for graduate training, undergraduate research experience, and interdisciplinary approaches to curriculum enhancement. Development of products and technologies in these areas will ultimately involve the expertise of University faculty in the Schools of Law and Business.
