Laboratory

The environmental health microbiology laboratory is located in 218 Nott Hall [building 111 on this map], on the University's main quadrangle. The lab has access to prep room facilities, a microscope lab, cold storage, incubators, hoods, and equipment for the processing of a range of pathogens and pathogen indicator microbes for human fecal contamination. Our focus is on drinking water quality, water and wastewater treatment technologies, and environmental transmission pathways for microbial pathogens.

Research opportunities are available. Interested students should contact Dr. Joe Brown at joebrown AT as.ua.edu.
