Tax-deductible gifts to The University of Alabama make take many forms: cash, appreciated securities, real estate, tangible and intangible personal property, and deferred gifts (bequest in wills, insurance policy, charitable trust, etc.).

Most gifts to the College of Continuing Studies of $5,000 or more are given for endowments, program support funds, or to purchase equipment and advanced technology for distance learning. Most gifts to the College of less than $5,000 are given for unrestricted or discretionary use by the Dean of the College, and are often given annually.

The highest priority for fund-raising in the College of Continuing Studies is endowed scholarships for adult and nontraditional students. The second highest priority is program support funds, including the purchase of distance learning equipment.

Creating an Endowment

Making an endowed gift to The University of Alabama is one of the most effective ways of ensuring that it will have the resources to remain a great institution. Endowments help attract the brightest students and the best faculty and develop targeted programs of excellence. Annual and One-Time Gifts

To maintain and enhance the level of excellence to students served by the College, many donors have chosen to make annual contributions for specific programs of the College or for unrestricted use by the Dean.
