In 1998 the Commission for a Nation of Lifelong Learners issued a wake-up call to the nation about the critical need for more effective adult education if America is going to successfully compete in the 21 Century. The commission also found that 80 percent of adult Americans believe they need more education to be able to compete in the global economy of today and tomorrow. To assist adults and nontraditional students, the College needs private support to provide annual student scholarships and to reduce the cost to participants of various programs in the College. The following identifies some of these needs and the funding sought for each program on an annual or one-time basis.
