Welcome!
If you're an experienced brass musician, woodwind player or percussionist, the UA Campus Band has an open chair waiting for you! The Campus Band features around 80 musicians - mostly university students and community members - who really like to play band music. Our motto is maximum music making with minimal rehearsal. So we only meet one evening per week and put on a concert near the end of every semesterWhat is the purpose of the UA Campus Band?
The Campus Band is designed to provide opportunities for musicians at UA, Shelton, and in the Tuscaloosa community to play quality band literature in formal concert settings. Our aim is to add to the cultural opportunities available to the citizens of Tuscaloosa and the surrounding areas by providing audiences with programs containing a wide variety of band music that is accessible and enjoyable to hear. When does the Campus Band rehearse?
Founded in 2005, the 75 member band performs two formal concerts during its regular season. The second half of our “season” begins on Monday, January 16, 2011 at 7:30 pm in Room 204 of the Moody Music Building. The band regularly meets on Monday nights from 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm.Is there an audition?
