Electronic Technician Senior

  • Hours: M-F 8:00 AM - 4:45 PM
  • Pay Range: Minimum: $14.19/hr; Mid-range: $18.72/hr
  • Appointment Type: Regular, full-time with benefits
  • Job Summary: To provide advanced, specialized, technical services, primarily in the electronic and electrical skills area in support of the teaching, research, and service activities of the university. To install, operate, PC's, audio-visual equipment, multi-media classrooms, labs, and other related kinds of equipment and systems.
  • Specific Job Description: The Electronics Technician Senior must maintain, repair, design, and construct analog and digital instrumentation and equipment; assist in the planning and implementing instructional- and research-driven laboratory requirements; have the ability to perform a high degree of precision and to use independent judgment in completing assigned tasks; and possess good analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge or experience with chemistry is not a requirement, nor is it expected, since the technician will work with chemistry personnel.
  • Minimum Job Requirements: Two year technical school degree in electronics or a closely related field and a minimum of four (4) years of work experience as an electronics technician. Ability to read blueprints, sketches, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Ability to lift, handle, maneuver and use the tools and equipment of the trade. Experience with both analog and digital electronics and electrical instrumentation and equipment.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Any experience specifically with either medical and/or scientific laboratory instrumentation or equipment would be a positive.
