Texas Tech University

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for three tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate rank. Areas of research interest include but are not limited to bio- analytical, bio-organic, materials, and computational chemistry.
Candidates must be able to teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in at least one of the areas of inorganic, analytical, or organic chemistry. A Ph.D. is required; postdoctoral experience is preferred. The successful candidate is expected to develop an independent, well-funded research program and have a commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Texas Tech University is classified as a doctoral research-extensive university by the Carnegie Foundation, has an enrollment of ca. 30,000 students, and is one of the major, state-supported, multidisciplinary universities of the Southwest. Texas Tech offers 104 masters and 57 doctoral programs, with Schools of Medicine and Law located on the main campus in Lubbock. Within the University, the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, with 27 tenure-track faculty positions, is among the top academic units in terms of funded research and graduate education.
