Research Positions
Periodically, the Department of Chemistry at The University of Alabama has Research Position vacancies under a variety of contracts, grants, and projects. Qualified individuals are being sought to establish a pool of readily available talented persons from which these vacancies can be filled as they occur.
The Department of Chemistry has research in the following broad areas:
- Analytical Chemistry
- Biological Chemistry
- Biochemistry
- Environmental Chemistry
- Inorganic Chemistry
- Materials Chemistry
- Organic Chemistry
- Fuel Cell Technology
- Physical Chemistry
Appointments to these Research Positions are for a specific period of time, are non-tenure earning, and may be renewable. There are four levels of Research Positions commensurate with a level of education and experience: Assistant Research Scientist, Associate Research Scientist, Research Scientist, and Senior Research Scientist. Level of appointment and salary will be determined by the nature of the task and the credentials of the applicant. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
