Rush Chi Phi at the University of Alabama
Joining a fraternity has many benefits. Aside from the
benefit of being cheaper than living in a dorm and paying
the University for food, it has the benefits of making
lifelong friendships, meeting new people, and being part of
an organization that can teach you values not only useful in social
aspects of life, but in professional life as well.
Most people going to college for the first time barely
consider fraternities. They think of the negative ideas the
media has thrown out there and would rather not
be a part of that. They especially think of the horrible
hazing stories they hear.
Then,
some how, some way, they are contacted or they meet a member
of a real fraternity. Once they go meet some of the guys
and see the house, they instantly know that its not
at all like it is made out to be. We do not inflict harm
onto any new member in any way during our
pledging process. We are normal guys who joined a fraternity.
We are the guys you hung out with in high school, just now
in a different setting and from all over the state and country.
We are here to not only better ourselves, but to better our
organization as a whole. A vital part of making our
fraternity better is having good men to pass our values and
traditions onto.
What you can expect
Lifelong
friendships
Its hard to explain what kind of relationship you have with
your fraternity brothers. To say the least you instantly
feel closer to them than any group of people you have before.
You will always be brothers and the bonds of brotherhood
last forever. Your brothers are those who are there for
you to lean on, and there to lean on you. A brotherhood
is a cohabitation, where everyone puts their best foot forward,
and strives to better themselves, and everyone around them.
Meeting
new people
Through Chi Phi, you will meet new people. You will have
alot of interaction with the other Greeks on campus as well
as various other campus and community organizations. We strive to
have a full social calendar each semester.
From rush parties to sorority swaps and dinners, there will
always be something to do.
Tradition
The Chi Phi Fraternity is rich in tradition. Founded in
1824, the Chi Phi Fraternity is America's Oldest College
Social Fraternity. Chi Phi was founded at the University of
Alabama in 1920. Our nearly 182 years of excellence nationally, and 86 years
at the University of Alabama are not by accident. We are
not the best because we're the oldest...we're the oldest
because we're the best.
