Alabama Science in Motion: Tool Kits

The goal of this program is to improve high school student learning outcomes in biology and chemistry. Changes in performance in high school competence exams will be tracked to determine impact of newly developed science tool kits.

As an outreach faculty in biology, chemistry, and nutrition will partner with high school teachers in Alabama Science in Motion to develop experiments and Toolkits (click here to see modules) to help increase students understanding of concepts about cell structure, energy exchange, membrane transport, and chemicals of life using nutrition and health as a vehicle of presentation that should make concepts more relevant to students' daily lives.

Improvements in students' interests and performance in science are expected outcomes.
