This Wednesday, November 17, will be the New Member Board Member election. The position is open to anyone who was eligible for induction this fall, and anyone who has paid his dues can vote. The duties include holding a weekly office hour (at your convenience), chairing a project of your choice, attending all board meetings (to be set at the mandatory December 4 board meeting), and being active on the membership committee. We have 2 nominees right now, but we will still take nominations this week. After the floor is closed for nominations, the candidates will caucus (time to be determined), which includes an introduction/speech, followed by questions. After caucusing, ballots will be distributed, taken up, and counted by advisors. The New Member Board Member will be announced before the meeting is adjourned, and they will be expected to stay for the board meeting following the general meeting.
