Koji Arizumi (有住幸二) grew up in Tokyo, Japan. He went to Waseda University and majored in physics. While in college, he started playing the flute and went on to get a master's degree (MA) and doctoral degree (DMA) in music. He has been teaching Japanese on Satellite TV/video as well as in the classroom almost 20 years while researching the educational use of technology. Dr. Arizumi also teaches Modern Japanese Literature and Film in the Department of Modern Languages and Classics of UA.

My name is Rachel Caver. I work in the Modern Languages and Critical Languages Center here at The University of Alabama. I enjoy being exposed to all of the different languages. Learning a new language is very beneficial to all. I enjoy working around people from different countries, learning their cultures, spending time with the ones I love and learning new things.

Sumi is from Korea. She is a doctoral student majoring in International Relations and minoring in Comparative Politics and American Politics at UA. She received her BA and MA degrees from Korea, and she worked at the Assembly of Korea for 4 years. She enjoys traveling, meeting new people from different countries, playing racqetball and tennis, swimming and cooking.

My name is Myung Ju Lee from Seoul, Korea. I am a doctoral student studying Adapted Sport Pedagogy. I received my MA and BA from Korea. I love doing diverse exercise such as table tennis, skiing, snowboarding, aerobics, mountain bicycle, marathon, swimming, and triathlon. I am looking forward to meeting new people who would like to learn Korean.

I was born and raised in Israel. I moved to Alabama in 2008 and I have been attending the University of Alabama since 2009. I am double majoring in Management and Geology. I enjoy dancing, reading, hiking and traveling.


Hindi Language Trainer: Shashank Wattal

My name's Shashank (pronounced / ʃəʃɑːŋk /), and I'm an undergraduate from Delhi, India. I like to explore different languages and interact with people from different parts of the world. I love tea, speaking french, reading, watching movies, and most of all, food. I enjoy teaching Hindi at the CLC, and am looking forward to meeting new students.

I am Ian Soo Ha from Busan, Korea. I am majoring in Secondary Education History and Social Studies. I came to the U.S. eight years ago with my family. I am an open minded person to meet new friends and learn their cultures. I really enjoy playing sports such as soccer, basketball and football. Also, I love to read history book and talk about it with my family or friends. As a language trainer, I am always looking forward to meeting students who want to learn Korean and Korean culture.

I am currently pursuing an MBA degree here at UA, and am looking forward to continuing my work with students of the Japanese language.
