PROFILE AND RECENT ACTIVITIES

Dr. Wallace is co-author, with Dr. Connie Van Fleet, of Knowledge into Action: Research and Evaluation in Library and Information Science (Santa Barbara:  Libraries Unlimited, 2012). He was the recipient of a 2012 American Library Association Diversity Research Grant for his study, "LIS Diversity: A Longitudinal Study of the ALISE Statistics." Doctoral students Reema Mohini and Qiong Xu and Dr. Wallace have a conference presentation, "Diversity in LIS Education:  Historical and Statistical Perspectives," accepted for the Association and Library and Information Science Education Annual Conference Historical Perspectives Special Information Group Session, Chicago, January 2015 and a poster presentation, "LIS Diversity: An Analysis of Latino Representation in the Students, Faculty, and Curricula of the Institutional Members of the Association for Library and Information Science Education," accepted for the 2015 REFORMA National Conference, April 2015, in San Diego.

Dr. Wallace is on sabbatical during the Spring semester of 2015.

Dr. Wallace’s research focuses on informetric studies of scholarly productivity, the nature of research and evaluation in library and information studies, and education for library and information studies.  He has more than thirty years of experience as a library and information studies educator. Dr. Wallace is an advisor for the Association for Library and Information Science Education's annual Library and Information Science Education Statistical Report. He also serves on the editorial board of the Interdisciplinary Journal of Information, Knowledge, and Management.
