Research Security Planning

The University of Alabama is committed to the protection of its workers and regulatory compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and guidelines governing the security of research of all types. Some applicable regulations and guidelines include:

In accordance with these laws, all research supervisors are required to declare all research interests and potential hazards present in their work areas or laboratories.  This would apply to any research, funded or unfunded.  Please complete the following for all research areas on campus:

Registration of Personnel

In some cases, additional documentation will be required due to the classification of the work area or the hazards present in the area.  This will be noted on the DHC.  Each section must be completed and submitted to Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).  You can download these forms, insert your information, and email the forms to mhuey@ua.edu.  Alternatively, a hardcopy can be sent to Box 870178.  All information must be reviewed and verified annually and updated any time hazards or procedures change.
