Stipend $35,407--first year 
$36,607--second year 
$37,807--third year
Vacation 3 weeks per year (includes week at Christmas)
Holidays 5 paid holidays per year
Educational Leave 1 week per year, with $1000 travel allowance 2nd & 3rd years; a set of medical books is provided to incoming residents
Health Insurance Blue Cross/Blue Shield policy for resident provided at minimal cost; coverage for dependents available through the University Benefits Office
Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance Provided
Term Life Insurance $50,000--is provided
Malpractice Insurance $1 million/$3 million occurrence-type policy provided
Disability Insurance Residency may purchase through AAFP
Licensure All fees required for Alabama state licensure provided
Professional Organizations Dues provided for organizations that the resident is required to join (American Academy of Family Physicians, Alabama Academy of Family Physicians, hospital medical staff)
Relocation Monies With appropriate receipts, up to $1,500 provided

In addition, staff members of The University of Alabama may use services provided by the Alabama Credit Union, receive a staff discount for all University athletic events, and may use the University's recreational facilities.
