The ResidencyINSTRUCTIONS FOR APPLICANTS1. The Tuscaloosa Family Practice Residency only accepts the Common Application Form (CAF) designed by the Association of American Medical Colleges for the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). United States graduates must obtain a computer diskette containing the Common Application Form (CAF) and a Program Designation List from their Medical Students Affairs Office. International medical graduates must write the ECFMG for the application. 2. Applicants will be considered only after an interview. An interview may only be scheduled after an applicant completes the Common Application Form (CAF) and Program Designation List (a listing of Program e-mail addresses) on a computer diskette and delivers the diskette to the Medical Student Affairs Office. The Medical Student Affairs Office sends the application to programs listed on the Program Designation List. 3. After the application is received and reviewed, applicants chosen to be interviewed will be invited to schedule an interview. 4. A transcript, three letters of recommendation, and a Dean's letter must be submitted before an applicant can be considered for a residency position. They are not necessary to be interviewed. The three letters should comment on the candidate's (a) medical knowledge, (b) clinical judgment and (c) character. 5. Applicants must have passed USMLE Parts 1 and 2 prior to entering residency with at least the minimum passing scores. 6. Applicants must have graduated from a medical school recognized by theWorld Health Organization. 7. We participate in the National Resident Matching Program and abide by its rules. 8.
