How to Join!

Each year, fraternities and sororities set aside a time of mutual selection to meet students interested in joining a Greek-Letter organization. It is an opportunity for interested students to ask questions and learn about the different chapters on campus. Recruitment gives students and organizations a chance to interact and to get to know one another. Alabama has three different Greek-governing councils - Panhellenic Association, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and the Interfraternity Council - each has different recruitment requirements.

Registration for Fall 2008 Sorority recruitment will be available June 1, 2008. Registration for the Fraternity Recruitment Database will be available in March 2008. Any student interesting in joining a Panhellenic Sorority or an IFC fraternity MUST register using the online database.

Interfraternity Council (IFC) fraternity formal recruitment is held during mid-September. This allows the potential new member the opportunity to interact with individuals from each fraternity and visit their houses. National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) has a delayed recruitment. Before an individual can join a NPHC organizations, he or she must have accumulated 12 or more semester hours at the University.

Alabama Panhellenic Association sorority formal recruitment is held prior to the start of classes in August. A limited informal recruitment is held in January. To register for NPC Sorority Recruitment click on Sorority Recruitment.

November TBA Pledge Period Ends - All new member activities will end and initiation will take place prior to the deadline.

National Pan-Hellenic Intake

August 29th NPHC Convocation - If interested in joining a NPHC fraternity/sorority during the 2007-8 academic year you must attend this event.
