It's Kanarrific!

Well, it is time again for me to ramble on about HPSA and other fun stuff. Here goes!

First, I want to congratulate the new Honors Ambassadors. The competition was fierce, but your new representatives are: Sarah Reppucci, Daniel Morrison, Joshua Payne, Maury Wilkinson, Pamela Shepard, and Maggie Stevenson.

I also want to thank Melissa Scott for planning capture the flag, which will be played next Thursday at 9pm. I have my new fall line of camoflage coordinates and my night vision goggles all ready, so people on the other team beware!

The HPSA Arkansas BBQ was a lot of fun, but the game was even better. Join us on the 20th when we will be grilling out again and kicking Tenessee's butt! That's right folks; a special feature at this BBQ will be fresh squeezed orange juice! We will also be grilling out before the LSU homecoming game.

I really can't wait for the tea this Friday with Harper Lee. I first read To Kill a Mockingbird in the fifth grade but continue to read because of its universal truths. The book reminds me that there ARE people who are unashamed to be idealists and will always stand up for what is right. It will be wonderful to meet Ms. Lee, who rarely makes public appreances. All HPSA members are invited to tea this Friday at 2pm in the Anderson Room in the Ferg.

The next tea will be with Tom Meredith, the chancellor of the UA system. He will be talking about the Alabama Poverty Project on Oct. 19 at 2pm in Temple Tutwiler.

Whew! I am long winded. I hope reading a letter from NoviKANA was more fun than getting your teeth pulled!
