Disaster Recovery Information

 

   

If you were directly impacted by the April 27, 2011 tornado, it may be difficult to remember what to do or who to call to get help for certain situations. The HR Service Center will serve as your central point of contact if any of the following apply:

  • Lost your Blue Cross medical insurance identification card
  • Lost your Blue Cross dental insurance identification card
  • Lost a recently filled prescription
  • Lost your flexible spending account (FSA) debit card
  • Lost your glasses or contacts
  • Need information about life insurance or accidental death & dismemberment insurance through the University
  • Need information about obtaining a loan or hardship withdrawal from your retirement account with TIAA-CREF, VALIC, or RSA-1 (RSA-1 allows only hardship withdrawals, no loans)
  • Need information about the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) which provides free, confidential counseling services to help employees and their immediate family members deal with storm-related or other stress
  • Need information about mental health benefits covered by our Blue Cross medical insurance plan
  • Need information about no-interest disaster loans (up to $1,000) for Alabama Credit Union members
