August 2010 - Lab member Michael Venarsky has been awarded a National Science Foundation Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grant for his proposal 'Testing carbon limitation of cave stream ecosystems via a whole-reach detritus addition.' The funds will pay for microbial and stable isotope analyses of samples associated with Mike's reach-level addition of corn stover to Bluff River Cave in northern Alabama. Congratulations to Mike!

May 2010 - The National Science Foundation recently funded a proposal written by Wyatt Cross, Alex Huryn and myself that will focus on the consequences of climate warming for stream food webs and ecosystem processes.
