I regret that my parents’ health will prevent them from attending the Ramsey Dinner. I am sure my father, as Dr. Ramsey’s first Ph.D. student, would have had some wonderful stories to contribute. One tale that comes to mind took place on the morning of my own birth. Dr. Ramsey went to the hospital with my parents, and then, after I arrived, took my father home for a well deserved martini. Many of my own earliest memories involved visits to or from my godfather — John Ramsey.

My parents and I regret that we will not be able to attend this year. I am sure that you will have a wonderful weekend, and I hope that I will be able to join you another year.
