Children's Hands-On-Museum

Grab your passports, CHOM is headed to Japan!!!

Join us as we celebrate the annual Sakura Festival with month-long special activities and displays.

Visit CHOM's Japanese House exhibit, an authentic replica of a traditional Japanese home.  Built of materials natural of Japan, the house presents the Japanese perception of beauty, which emphasizes simplicity, and closeness to nature.  Following Japanese customs, please leave your shoes in the Genkan .  Pretend to have tea in the tatami room! Visit the kitchen and the furo (the bath) with its wooden tub!  Use chopsticks and pretend to eat Japanese foods!  View the Zen Gardens!    Then, make your way to Creation Station for a special art activity each Saturday of the month!
