      Over, like girlhood.

2nd Place: Cheryl Connelly - Tuscaloosa, Alabama
     Flowers, gently pressed,
     A father's love remembered,
     A daughter's solace.


3rd Place: Beth Sherrill - Tuscaloosa, Alabama

      Slender water drop

      Slips from the calla lily

      A pearl breaking loose.

Honorable Mention:                                                          Virginia Gilbert - Madison, Alabama
       He thinks his mother
       Only makes pancakes but she
     
 Really makes flowers.

     My dad looks at me
     “Go outside,” he says, beaming
     Flowers know his name.

     Amid the litter
     And countless broken bottles
     One rose remains strong.
 
3rd Place: Devonica Spraggins - Tuscaloosa, Alabama

     Purple, yellow, blue
     Colors of gorgeous flowers
    
Smells put you to sleep.

     Waterfalls splashing
    
By lilies in the lagoon
     A contrast in white.

3rd Place: Elie Younes - Birmingham, Alabama
     Beautiful daisies
     In the meadow by the stream
     Getting their feet wet.

4th Place: Sophie Vogt - Tuscaloosa, Alabama
     A lone flower sits
     World of white blankets enclose
    
Darkness gently fades.

     Pink buds on the trees
     The flowers bloom on spring days
     In the wind, they waltz.

     Little pink blossoms
     Lightly twirl to the damp ground

     it reminds me of the days

       My favorite sunny spot
       is covered by fallen cherry flowers.
      Today I will sunbathe through my                  windows.

      Under the chilly sky.
