Prerequisites: Permission of the instructor, BEP 205, and admission to the teacher education program.

Comprehensive coverage of the music curriculum in elementary school, including current methodologies. Teaching techniques and materials are demonstrated and applied in field experiences. Offered spring semester.

In 387, preservice music teachers learn the skills and knowledge necessary to teach music to elementary students. Much time is given towards actual teaching experience with this age level.

Preservice teachers learn various methodologies for teaching elementary classroom music including, but not limited to, Kodaly, Orff, and Dalcroze methodologies.
