MUE 523 Current Trends in Elementary Music. Three hours.
Instructional materials, lesson planning, teaching practices and
procedures, and the evaluation of pupil achievement. Offered in summer
school only, in odd-numbered years.
In 523, students explore topics and curricular ideas in elementary
music that are being utilized currently throughout the country.
Students are challenged to investigate their own teaching
and to compare it to current trends in the profession.
The integration of music with the rest of the elementary curriculum
is covered.
Students learn the tools necessary to make assessment and evaluation
an important part of their day-to-day activities as teachers.
