ATHENA AND THE CRAFTS
Athena taught people how to weave, pottery, woodwork, making agricultural tools, and she protected their crafts along with Hephaestos. She is shaping a horse out of clay, and behind her the tools for woodworking are hanging on the wall, which symbolize her participation in the fashioning of the Trojan Horse. But her multi-faceted relation with the horse is known from many other myths. [red figured oinochoe, 470 B.C., West Berlin Staatliche Museum]
