Mother of Apollo
Leto, tortured by birth pangs, finally landed on Delos. She appears sitting on a stool with her head bowed with an expression of pain in her face. She is holding a palm tree in her effort to give birth. Behind her is Eileithyia, the goddess of childbirth, and in front of her Athena, Aphrodite, and another goddess, giving her support.
