Major Sites for Dos/Windows Fonts and Keyboards

 The BRAMA site also contains many fonts and keyboard drivers.
 

Fonts

Cyrillic

If you want an easy installation that covers both DOS and Windows, Gavin Helf's WinKey is available. WinKey will edit your initialization files to set up Russian Windows and Russian DOS, providing screen fonts and a keyboard driver in the process. WinKey is available at BRAMA.

ER Cyrillic Fonts for Windows. Developed by Gavin Helf, they are a perfect compliment to his WinKey program. Available from the BRAMA site and The SovInform Bureau FTP Site.

 Vadim Kurland's R. If you work only with DOS, this package might be for you. Provides only screen fonts and keyboard drivers.

 A set of Cyrillic fonts is available at the Indiana CICA Archive. Cyrillic True Type fonts by Alec McAllister are available at this site.

 The Friends and Partners Site also contains a few Cyrillic fonts.
 

Central and East European Latin

The AATSEEL Windows Central and East European page has links to freeware and shareware fonts and keyboards.

TrueType fonts for Eastern European Languages by Alec McAllister.

 Windows Polish fonts are available at a site in Poland.

 Gavin Helf's WinKey includes screen fonts for the Baltic Languages.

 

Keyboards

Gavin Helf's WinKey is a complete package with keyboard drivers for DOS and Windows, providing layouts for CP 866, CP 1251 and KOI8.

Apple Standard Cyrillic Fonts: If you have a few dollars to spare, perhaps buying Apple's Cyrillic Language Kit is the solution for you. Apple provides a nice all-in-one package that installs easily on your Macintosh. For further information, check out Apple's Cyrillic Language Kit page.

 Fonts produced by Apple Computer Co. for the Macintosh are available for free from Apple's FTP Site.

Downloading and installing these fonts yourself is somewhat complicated. Easy to follow directions are provided by Matvey Palchuk on his server Russification of the Macintosh. Another good source to consult is Ukrainianization of the Macintosh.

The AATSEEL MacCyrillic Fonts and Keyboards page provides links to shareware and freeware available.

BRAMA serves as a major repository for Cyrillic fonts and keyboards.  Here you will find Gavin Helf's ER Series of Cyrillic fonts designed for the PC which are now available for the Mac. There are four fonts available, with each provided in CP 1251, CP 866, KOI8, and the Mac Codepage. These fonts support Russian, Ukrainian, and Bulgarian.

 KOI8 Fonts can be obtained from Daniel Chirkov's package. This packaged is also located at the Info-Mac Mirror at MIT.

 

Central and East European Latin

Apple Standard Fonts for Central Europe are provided by Apple Co. as part of its international system software for Czech and Polish. These can be downloaded from Apple's FTP Site. The fonts included are Times CE, Courier CE and Helvetica CE. These fonts will produce the characters need for Polish, Czech, Slovak, Hungarian and Romanian.

The AATSEEL Mac Central and East European Latin page provides links to freeware and shareware fonts and keyboards.

 Polish Mac fonts are available at UC Irvine.

 

Keyboards

Shareware Keyboards for the Apple Standard Cyrillic fonts and KOI8 fonts by Matvey Palchuk. Both layouts are identical and use the "student" or qwerty layout and are designed for use of Russian. For those who prefer a homophonic layout to the Russian typewriter layout.

George Fowler's keyboards for Apple Standard Cyrillic fonts and for Apple's Central and East European fonts.

 Another KOI8 keyboard can be found in Daniel Chirkov's font package.
