The Weaver Research Group, directed by Prof. Mark L. Weaver, conducts research within the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at The University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa, AL).

 

We focus on the fundamental linkages between the microstructures and properties of materials. Our current areas of research include: processing and properties of coatings for high temperature applications, deformation and fracture behavior of cast magnesium alloys, and characterization of phase transformations and phase equilibria in high temperature shape memory alloys and intermetallic compounds.
