NPHC participates in a delayed recruitment commonly called Membership Intake (MIP). Before an individual can join a NPHC organization, he or she must have accumulated 12 or more semester hours at the University, earned a 2.5 cumulative GPA, be in good standing with the University and attended NPHC convocation in the academic year that the student plans to participate in intake.

2013 Fall NPHC Convocation will take place on Sunday, August 25, 2013 in the Ferguson ballroom at 5:00 pm. There is a $5 fee to attend Convocation. All proceeds will go to benefit the NPHC S.T.R.O.N.G. Scholarship Fund. Registration for 2013 Fall NPHC Convocation will open July 15, 2013.

STEP ONE: Convocation

The purpose of convocation is to give students information about the various groups, membership requirements, and benefits of joining Greek Life.

Convocation is also an opportunity for the Office of Greek Affairs to discuss important information about Hazing guidelines, the challenges of joining a Greek-letter organization, and the various guidelines specific to joining an organization at UA.

STEP TWO: Research and Interest Meetings/Groups or Rush

Attend interest meetings of the organization that you have serious interest in. In order to determine which organization your are interested in, we encourage students to research each organization in order to discern which chapter is a best fit for you. Please note that some organizations do not conduct interest meetings.
