Background, State-of-the-Art, and Academic/Industrial Applications

March 23-24, 2006

The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL

“A workshop to provide R&D personnel with state-of-the-art information and a working knowledge of the chemistry, properties, and applications of ionic liquids, thus enabling decision making and utilization of these novel materials”

The workshop will provide R&D personnel with state-of-the-art information and a working knowledge of the chemistry, properties, and applications of ionic liquids, thus enabling decision making and utilization of these novel materials. The workshop which will include literature surveys, physical/solvent properties, engineering aspects, IL availability and synthesis, academic and industrial applications, product demonstrations, and hands-on ionic liquid experience.

The workshop will immediately precede the Atlanta ACS meeting and will commence at noon on Thursday March 23 with some of the world’s leading Ionic Liquids researchers and Ionic Liquids suppliers offer tutorials. The workshop will end on Friday evening March 24, allowing a leisurely 3.5 h drive to Atlanta on Saturday.
