All financial obligations to The University of Alabama must be cleared before transcripts can be released. Transcripts may not be picked up by another party unless the student has given written authorization with the request. The designated person will be expected to show a picture I.D. before obtaining the transcript. An official transcript will not be issued unless all financial obligations to the University have been satisfied.
A University of Alabama transcript is a complete record of a student's enrollment at UA, including all undergraduate, graduate, and professional courses. Partial transcripts are not available. In addition, The University of Alabama will not provide customers with copies of another institution's transcript that we may have in our possession. The one exception to this policy is international student requests. Requests in this category will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
An official transcript that must be returned to the student to be included in an application packet (graduate school, medical school, etc.) must be specifically requested in a sealed envelope and the name of the receiving party included in the request. The student may not open the sealed envelope or the official status of the transcript is invalidated. Official transcripts normally are mailed directly to the receiving party.
The University of Alabama Transcript Resend Policy
The University of Alabama will resend a transcript to the same address at no charge after 15 days and up to 30 days from the date of initial order. Requests for resend before 15 days and after 30 days of initial order will require additional payment.
