Attis was born from a pomegranate that Nana slipped into her dress. She soon found herself pregnant. Once Attis was an adult, Midas, a local king, arranged for Attis to marry his daughter, Ia. When Agdistis heard the news he was furious and planned to drive all the wedding guests mad. As a result, the guests began to castrate themselves and Attis flung himself at the foot of a pine tree and castrated himself as well. Once he had died, Cybele washed and buried his organs under a pine tree. Upon his burial, Cybele asked Zeus to return him to life but Zeus only agreed to not let his body decay, his hair would continue to grow and he could still move his smallest finger.
Attis
Attis was the the child of Nana, the daughter of a local King. As the myth tells, the sexual organs of Agdisitis had been cut off by the gods and had fallen to earth to form a tree. Attis’ soon to be mother picked up the fruit from the ground and placed it in her breast and became pregnant with him without any type of sexual intercourse. This is very similar to the story of Jesus’ birth. In christianity it is said that an angel came to mary and told her that she would be the mother of God’s son. This too, would be without any sexual intercourse.
Birth Of Jesus

Attis, the fictional consort of Cybele was believed to have been born via a virgin birth. He was also believed to have died and been resurrected each year during the period of March 22 to March 25. There were many cults that worshipped the goddess and her lover. One Roman cult, that was centered on Vatican Hill, celebrated Attis’ birth and resurrection at a festival each year. It began as a day of blood on Black Friday and cultimated after three days in a day of rejoicing over the resurrection.

Public and private Italian research centers in Italy are working to create methods, softwares, and techniques to better understand several physical and biological processes.  There are four groups of scientists working on different projects: CNR, CASToRE, DE, PGB.  These scientists are studying DNA sequences and complex systems like that along with things like creating software to analyze heart beats and neuron signals.  And one group is trying to improve on the information techniques used by scientists to make them more reliable overall.
