Laboratory Experience

2008-2009     University of Alabama, McNair Scholars Research Internship, Tuscaloosa, AL

Interned under: C. Fred T. Andrus, Assistant Professor of Geological Sciences; established the variation of heavy metal contaminate ratios within populations of Rangia cuneata. Research proposal accepted spring of 2008, implemented summer 2008.

 

2007-2008      University of Alabama, Paleoclimatology, Tuscaloosa, AL

Paleoclimatology Lab Assistant to Dr. C. Fred T. Andrus, Assistant Professor of Geological Sciences; assisted in methods designed to analyze the stable oxygen isotope ratios in shells from a shell mound in Sapelo Marsh, GA. Methods used in this analysis have been applied to my own research.

 

2006   University of Alabama, Aquatic Ecology, Tuscaloosa, AL

Aquatic Ecology Lab Assistant to Dr. Arthur Benke, Professor of Biological Sciences; helped establish a complex food web in the Cahaba River in Tuscaloosa, AL.
