Instructions for Enrolling in the course and registering your CPS-RF Response Pad (Clicker)

This is done online via any PC with an Internet connection.

Use any browser of your choice and go to www.einstruction.com.

Click on the Students button at the top of the window.

Select University of Alabama Tuscaloosa from the drop-down menu.

Click Create your account next to the Submit button.

Enter your information in the boxes provided. It is important to enter your full name as it appears in UA Banner when you enroll for a course at UA. Use your correct student number and give a valid email address. Failure to provide this information correctly means that the CPS software will not give you the credit you earned in this course. This is not correctable by the instructor. It is your responsibility to enter all information correctly.  Remember to copy down and save your CPS username and password.  You will need this later to access your student grades!!!!!

On newer clickers, the serial number is displayed on the LCD screen when you first start up.  Many serial numbers begin with lower case letter r. This must be included. Be careful you do not confuse the number 1 from lower case letter l.

All students enrolled at UA are entitled to and are given a Bama email account (e.g. jones099@bama.ua.edu). This should be used for all University-related issues. If you use a personal email account, the Seebeck Help Desk can provide instructions on how to link your Bama account to your personal one. Email sent to/from personal accounts (e.g. The King@ hotmail.com) will generally be blocked by firewalls or ignored.

After entering your personal information, click Submit. You will be asked if you like to enroll in a class now. Click Yes.

Enter the Class Key in the space provided. The key depends upon the section in which you are enrolled.  If you enter the wrong Key you will not receive credit for your work!!!!!

Enrollment now requires a coupon code.  This code is different for all students. You may purchase this code during enrollment on the einstruction website and pay with a credit card.  To pay online, click on the Submit button with no coupon code entered.  You will be directed to a page where you may pay online using a credit card.  The cheapest option to is access only for the current semester, but this entitles you to multiple courses for the same semester at no extra charge.  It is also possible to buy a code from the Campus Bookstore at a slightly higher price.  Enter the code in the space provided during enrollment.

Once you have finished enrolling in the class, click Log Out. For the system to properly record your information, it is important that you Log Out. If you just close the window, the information will be lost.

CPSOnline will send a confirming email that you have successfully enrolled in the course to the email address you provided with your personal information. They will also include you name on the official class roster and gradebook maintained by CPSOnline. If you make a mistake in the enrollment process, there will be no record of your class activity and you will not be given credit for your work. Keep in mind that the system for registering for a course at UA, Banner, is distinct from the record keeping system of CPS. You must follow these extra steps to be included in the CPS system.

In an early class period in the semester, you will have the opportunity to confirm your CPS enrollment and test your clicker.
