Elliott Jackson Jones Memorial Scholarship
The Elliott Jackson Jones Memorial Scholarship for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Activism is administered by the Capstone Alliance Scholarship Committee. Elliott was the first president and founding member of the UA GLBTA, now called Spectrum. Sadly, Elliot passed away in the summer of 1999, and the selection committee wanted to honor his memory by naming the scholarship after him. The scholarship is provided for individuals who continuously find new ways to support gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender issues on the University of Alabama campus.
