Our national philanthropy is Prevent Child Abuse America. This was chosen at our 1982 National Convention, when the convention body unanimously agreed upon its adoption as the national philanthropy. Prevent Child Abuse America is a voluntary organization dedicated to the prevention of child abuse through citizen action.
Each Sigma Delta Tau chapter conducts an annual service project, educational program, or major fundraiser for the benefit of Prevent Child Abuse America. Nationally, our sorority contributes more than $50,000 each year to our national philanthropy.
April is "Child Abuse Prevention Month." Many Sigma Delta Tau chapters participate in the National Blue Ribbon Campaign, where blue ribbons are distributed on campuses across the country to help spread awareness of child abuse to undergraduates everywhere.
Rho Chapter's local Tuscaloosa philanthropy is Tuscaloosa's One Place, a family resource center dedicated to helping those families in the Tuscaloosa community who are in need.
We work with Tuscaloosa's One Place each semester to raise awareness and fundraise for their operations.
